It probably wasn’t a great idea to agree to try some samples of Yoplait’s new Greek yogurt the same week that I knew I was scheduled to be induced but when I read more about this new line and the flavors, I couldn’t say no. A coconut yogurt that is also high in protein? Sign me up!
I was worried that with a newborn I would be reaching for quick food solutions and not necessarily the most healthy options so this yogurt is a great alternative. I’ve eaten it plain (big selling point as I usually need some sort of sweetener or add-in with other Greek yogurts), added in cereal, made a smoothie and even threw some cornbread in one night.
I’ve made pina colada smoothies before but I always had to add shredded coconut or coconut extract to get the taste I was looking for. This yogurt has some shredded coconut mixed in which I love!
Pina Colada Protein Smoothie
- Almond milk
- Yoplait coconut Greek yogurt
- frozen bananas
- frozen pineapples
Directions: Throw it all in a blender and enjoy! I used frozen bananas for extra creaminess but you can skip those or add something else like frozen strawberries for a different twist.
The yogurt is available in six unique flavors – Blueberry, Coconut, Pineapple, Strawberry Raspberry, Tangerine and Vanilla – all containing 150 calories or less per serving and 100% more protein than regular yogurt. I love that they have different flavor options that the standard ones that you can always find.
