After 41 weeks of pregnancy and over 24 hours of labor, our sweet baby girl is here! Last Friday (August 2) at 11:28 pm, Kelly Anne Keefe was born via C section.
I’ll be writing up a labor story in a few days (seems like an overshare but I read so many labor stories in the weeks leading up to Kelly’s birth that I figured if it will help someone else, why not?).
We are so lucky to have such a sweet little girl who has been taking it pretty easy on her rookie parents.
At birth she was 8 pounds, 20 inches and had a whopper of a head at 14.5 inches. She also had so many visitors and got so many gifts that I’m a little jealous of her popularity.
It already seems like Kelly has quite the personality and she has us cracking up all the time with her crazy facial expressions and cute little noises.
I didn’t know what to expect after she was born but it has all been better than I could have imagined. I feel very lucky to have a healthy, beautiful baby and an amazing husband who has turned out to be an awesome dad. I had a feeling that he would be great but he has really stepped up and done a better job that I could have asked. It’s definitely a team effort but so far so good!
So far the dogs have been great with her. They are very curious but cautious at the same time and they have been listening well when we tell them to back off or to be gentle. I’m not sure that she’s aware of them yet but what little girl wouldn’t want two dogs?
All in all, things around here are great and now that it’s been a whole week since she was born, I think it’s safe to say that we’re going to keep her .
