Lately I have been in a smoothie kind of mood and today I was craving an especially creamy and thick one. Even though this smoothie doesn’t require a lot of ingredients, the key is in the bananas. The more frozen bananas you can get in there, the creamier the texture will be. I whipped up one for me and for Shane and this one was a big hit with us. Unfortunately, this meant that my banana supply was severely depleted so I will need to be hitting up the grocery store ASAP!
The strawberries gave the smoothie a nice taste and pretty color as well. I saw a smoothie recipe that called for frozen peaches so I think that might be something I’ll end up trying pretty soon.
The rest of today’s eats weren’t too interesting so I skipped taking pictures of those. My workout today included a 10K run on the treadmill, which was followed up with a 2 mile walk with Daisy. The run today wasn’t anything noteworthy, not great but not terrible. After running a little over 7 outdoors last week, I’ve been really missing running outdoors on trails that I enjoy. Unfortunately I haven’t found anything that I love nearby so it’s easier to run indoors and distract myself with the tv rather than drive 20 mins to a trail.
This week marks Week 10 of This Fit Chick and the final Phase of the Slim n Sculpt program. I pretty much took last week off since I was staying at my parents’ house and I wanted to focus on running and taking classes with my mom rather than searching for gyms to complete my workouts. As always, it’s nice to be able to change up the workout and not know exactly what’s coming up the next day. With the chaos of the holidays and everything, it’s nice to have workouts written out and already planned. That way I don’t have to worry about wasting time figuring out what I want to work on- the program already lets me know what to do.
When I saw Tina’s post today about her 24 Days of Togetherness, I knew that this was something I wanted to replicate with Shane. Since he coaches high school wrestling during the winter, we don’t have as much time together as we do during the off season. I found a holiday tin, cut up the pieces of paper, and pulled out the red and green markers so that Shane would have no reason to object when I presented the plan .
Our plan is to pick one paper in the morning so that we can plan accordingly for later in the day. Since the wrestling team often has matches and meets at night, we need to be able to plan ahead. We each wrote 12 ideas on the scraps of paper so I’m excited to see what Shane was able to come up with. I’m looking forward to trying this out not just because they’re Christmas or holiday related, but also because during wrestling season we end up just hanging out on the couch because we’re both tired and Shane doesn’t get home until later.
There are so many different ways to try out this idea so thanks to Tina for sharing!
Who is trying to win the Powerball tonight?? Shane is in a pool at work but it doesn’t get announced until after 9pm which is way past our bedtime so we’re hoping for good news tomorrow morning!
