Pumping Up Lunch

Today I wasn’t feeling anything in particular for lunch so I went with a Healthy Choice Cafe Steamer.  It’s easy, it’s quick, and it checks a lot of the boxes for the nutrition.  However, I wanted to make sure that I wouldn’t be hungry afterwards so I chopped up some spinach to give the dish a little oomph without a lot of extra calories or carbs.

I usually go with the Chicken Marinara and you can usually find some in my freezer and my parents’.  I remember one summer where I was working out a ton and really focusing on my nutrition, I had heated up my lunch and I came back to the microwave to see that my brother had snagged one of the pieces of chicken.  I was so pissed that I was missing out on protein that I made him make me a new one.  I’m such a treat.

After work (and voting, yay democracy!), I took Daisy for a walk around the neighborhood.  Ever since I got my new headphones from Shane’s dad, I love walking Daisy and chatting with my mom or Shane on the phone.  I can just tuck my iPhone into my pocket and be hands free (very important with a puppy) and enjoy the fall weather.  Tonight I downloaded an audio book and we hit the sidewalk for about an hour, Daisy had to drag me back to the house instead of the other way around because I was enjoying a leisurely stroll while listening to a book.

Ok so remember when I said last week that I was looking at wedding bands?  Well I found one that I really like (Shane’s not a huge fan) and I’ve been whipping out my phone to show everyone the pics all weekend.

This is the original band.  It’s not bad, I just think that it looks like it’s part of the engagement ring.  I love my engagement ring so much and I want to feel the same love for my wedding band (is that dumb?).  Also, the diamond in my ring stands up pretty high and it would be nice to be able to just wear the band when I’m playing sports, etc.  The band below is fitted to the engagement ring so it’s curved and looks weird alone.

This is the band that I fell in love with.  I really like that it’s unique, can stand alone, and while it has its own personality, it also goes well with my engagement ring.  Shane is a big fan of the matchy-matchy (and he thinks the rings should be flush to one another) which is not really my style.  As I pointed out to him, have you ever seen me wear a matching bikini top and bottoms?  Nope, not going to happen.  Odds are that I’m going to have to wait for this bad boy as an anniversary present down the road since our money is being pulled a few different ways now and Shane and my mom didn’t jump on board with my wedding band being a “family band” idea.

I know, I know, I have big problems.  Don’t worry if you want to slap me in the face, I would too Smile.

Question:

Do you have any audiobooks you would recommend?  I think I’m hooked!

Does anyone else have such manly fingers that they have to try on rings halfway up their fingers?  Nope?  Just me?

  1. I love audio books!! The most recent one I read was the first hunger game books. I would even listen to it during my runs — never thought I’d be able to zone out with a book like that (usually I need pump up tunes), but it really made the miles fly!

  2. I’m not a matching wedding band fan either! I actually have that ring pinned but I haven’t been able ot find it in person to try it on. The diamond in my engagement ring is emerald cut, so a lot of bands look weird with it!

  3. Now worries! I always had to do that when I was trying on rings. I’m not usually a big fan of Stephen King, but I listened to his 11/22/63 on audiobook and it was so good!

  4. I think you should get the band you want. when i was looking for my wedding band, i wanted something that wasnt going to take away from my engagement ring. Like you I love my engagement ring, esp since the diamond came from my grandmother. So i ended up getting something simple and a bit matchy. But setting is not a straigt cut, so both bands have a flowy shape to them. Ultimately, you are the one who is going to wear it. Is Shane trying to get his wedding band to match your rings? J was sooooo picky about rings, that I was just happy he found one!
