Nothing amazing happened today but everything just seemed to be going my way.
We got all the decorations taken down and put away less than 24 hours after Halloween, that must be a record! I still have a few pumpkin related items, some scarecrows, and a Pilgrim for Thanksgiving out.
Shane was able to come home at lunch which was nice because he doesn’t usually get to. He’s doing No Shave November for a fundraiser at work so the more I get to see him before he gets all bearded out, the better.

My mom called me. We talk a lot, but I usually am the one to call her, she prefers to text me. Yes, my mom “likes” things on Facebook and out loud, she also signs her texts “Love, Mom”.
Got some good feedback on my idea for No Sweets November which makes me more motivated. And there’s only a few more hours before I am through Day One!

Daisy was being super cute (as usual). But today she jumped up on the couch and then put her paw on my shoulder as if to say, “excuse me, do you have a sec?” Plus I was looking through my phone and came across this pic which cracks me up.
After accepting that my last pair of running shoes needed to be retired, I ordered two pairs to test out. The first pair arrived today and if this bright color combo doesn’t put you in a good mood, there’s something wrong with you!

I also found out that we won 2nd place in our pumpkin carving contest at work which means we won a bagel party for the office. That was only semi good news since we were looking for the “W” but it did inspire me to plan a Thanksgiving potluck at work so I’m excited for that.
I also got some good feedback on a case study that I produced and it really feels good when something that you’ve worked hard on doesn’t get rejected or sent back with lots of red lines through it.
I am finally posting the recipes for Tomato Soup with Chicken Parm meatballs and Cheesy Italian bread so be sure and test these bad boys out! I only changed these recipes slightly for my personal preferences but you can find Courtney’s original recipes here.
I actually ended up using 2 cups of the whole wheat shells (instead of the 1 cup listed above) which made it a bit more like pasta but still just as tasty in my book.
You can find the Chicken Parm meatball recipe here or the original recipe from Courtney here.
Now I’m off to test out these new shoes on the treadmill. I rented the Five Year Engagement from Netflix and I think that should be just the thing to distract me through a short run.
Question:
What are those little things that cheer you up or make you excited?

Love the shoes! I definitely need a new pair… mine are about a year old, which isn’t so bad, except that the mesh is tearing on the corners which means my pinkie toes are breaking loose. Not ideal. Also I can’t wait until our Whole30 is over, I will be trying some of these cheesy recipes out!
I had a little toe flashing action going on too along with some majorly worn out soles. I still can’t believe you, the lover of mac and cheese, is doing the Whole30. Get it, girl!
I love that your mom “likes” things out loud. I fully support that. I also really enjoy the photo of your dog chilling at the computer. For some reason, whenever animals do ordinary things they are about 800% more funny. No?
Love the new kicks!!
Haha that is so true. I was dying laughing when I took that picture and I’m sure my dog was like, umm this is what you look like about 12 hours a day….
oh great post!!! haha love how your mom signs texts and I would be cracking up to if I had a picture of my dog like that! I love the soup recipe!
Just came across your blog and I was immediately drawn when I saw the cardio and cocktails, two of my favorite things
Your mom sounds so much like mine, she loves any chance she gets to use technology it’s hilarious! ha Good luck with the NoShaveNovember, I was petrified when I was reminded of it yesterday…here’s to the long month of itchy uncomfortable kisses! ha
Can’t wait to read more from you, so glad I came across your site!
Thanks! I’m always so happy when people find their way here and even more happy when they actually like what I write!
