I was just recently made aware that today is National S’mores Day. Lately I feel that I have been hearing about these national celebrations of very specific and sometimes random foods, but today I feel is justified. I love s’mores! I am a fan of chocolate, I’m cool with graham crackers and on the fence about marshmallows, but when you put them together… To die for! Lately I have been pinning a bunch of different s’mores recipes (I know, who knew that there were so many ways to make them??) on my Wedding board because I thought it would be a fun idea to do a s’mores bar for dessert. I don’t want to hear anything about how that is tacky or lame because I just do not care about wedding cake and I feel like the s’mores bar is something totally different and unique.
I do not know what they are talking about, s’mores are delicious. (yes, that is a stuffed s’mores toy in her mouth)
Here are some tasty s’mores treats that I have found through Pinterest and other Internet searching. I’ve tried a couple of these and am definitely willing to experiment in the name of research with the rest. I actually recently bought toasted coconut marshmallows and dark chocolate so that I could try some old fashioned ones with a twist, I guess I’ll be firing up the grill (well, Shane will have to fire it up, I am grill-inept). Check out these recipes below (links are embedded in the titles)!
And so much S’More! (I know, that was terrible )
Side note, some of the high school girls that I used to coach in basketball called me Coach S’more. High school girls are a funny bunch.
